Goals and tasks
The research network of Lower Saxony health and care sciences has been operating since June of 2004. A key role within the realm of health science comes from the recent paradigm change of aspect orientation from reaction to prevention. An increasing need of research and development exists due to this new change. The project is promoted by the Ministry of Lower Saxony for science and culture (MWK) until the end of 2006. One of their main goals is to establish a stronger cross-linking of research activities between professional schools of Lower Saxony and those of practice partners from health care operations. Accomplishment of this objective is planned to occur through structuring and maintaining good contacts between both fields. The network gathers authority, brings it together, accrues emphasis, promotes information exchange and strengthens each partner through
- Use of common resources
- Construction of additional common resources.
Through the fusion of the Fachhochschule northeast Lower Saxony with the University of Lueneburg, the co-ordination of the network came into affect as of January 1, 2005 at the university.
The co-ordination department of the network makes the following contributions:
- Organization of regular meetings (approx. every 3 months) and conferences.
Acquaintances between colleagues and practice partners are to be made possible. Exchanging, coordinating, or planning main points of research and research projects with each other will also be achievable. These interactions made within the range of health and care sciences will allow ideas from specific disciplines to be exchanged.
The activities are documented and coordinated by the co-ordination department.
- Planning and execution of common research projects & requests
With research requests in the context of both AGIP and of the BMBF/FH³ - Research program, the trend moves away from that of single applications toward research groups. Thus, the future success of this new research method and its popularity within the industry depends not only on the element of „request authority“ but also the „group ability“. The two elements of authority and ability will be strengthened through cooperation within the network.
In the context of the working groups, the network partners inform themselves on individual main topics which can be worked on. These topics are cooperatively worked on within the working groups.
- Production and reinforcement of practice contacts are transferred to health service operations
Presentation of the network will take place in conferences and congresses. Structure of contacts and maintenance of operations of the health care (such as hospital services, medical practices, federations, health insurance companies and enterprises) will also be on the main agenda. Expected results would be the preparation of further co-operation for common research projects. Thus, an improved science practice transfer as well as an improved utilization of the research results could be obtained.
At the expiration of the network promotion by the MWK, an increasing steadiness of the work is desirable beyond the financial promotion. These functions in detail are:
- Continued existence and operation of working groups
- Stable, expandable and long-term oriented development of networks
- Collective publishing
Are you interested in a main point of research and looking for partners from the field of universities or from practice? Would you like to establish contacts to other universities or mechanisms in the health service? We gladly invite you to our next meeting. Contact us.
