The COPERNICUS Alliance is set together by the members (universities, NGOs, public institutions, higher education entities, individual members…). It is headed by the president and vice-president and supported by the Scientific Steering Committee.

President Board

The president and vice-president is being elected every second year by the scientific committee.

The management of the COPERNICUS Alliance is financed by membership fees of partner institutions. The President Board as well as the Scientific Steering Committee are working voluntarily. In the first years one administrative staff will be employed at the president’s host university. 

In the first year a group of universities and institutions served as founding members who supported the revitalization of COPERNICUS with an annual fee of 1,800 EUR. Those universities are listed lifelong on the website of COPERNICUS Alliance as founding members.

The COPERNICUS Alliance membership year is from January – December. Members paying after October 1st pay still for the next year. Membership fees cover everyone at the paying institution.

  • Institutional Member (observer): EUR 500
  • Department Member: EUR 500
  • NGO Member: EUR 500
  • NGO Member (observer): EUR 200
  • Individual Research Member (observer): EUR 50
  • Individual Student Member (observer): EUR 20
